Slashes troubleshooting times by 50% to 80%, resolving complex network issues in minutes instead of hours
Proactively identifies and resolves network anomalies before subscriber experience is impacted
Nokia uses Gemini Enterprise to automate network troubleshooting, cutting problem-solving time by up to 80%.
Today’s telecom networks generate massive volumes of complex data. Traditionally, managing this has been a highly manual process, with operators spending hours digging through minor alert logs to find the root cause of network issues.
Now, the industry is entering an "AI super cycle" that is rapidly changing network demands. Driven by a surge in autonomous machines and AI agents, machine-to-machine communication is creating unpredictable traffic patterns that are much more uplink-heavy than traditional networks.
Add in modern physical infrastructure—which spans multiple clouds, domains, and equipment vendors—and human operators simply cannot keep pace with the noise. To survive these machine-driven traffic spikes and avoid prolonged downtimes, telecom providers need systems that can analyze data at machine speed.
The AI super cycle is happening right now, and it is fundamentally changing what networks need to deliver. For service providers, this essentially means there is an unprecedented amount of data volume.

To solve this mounting complexity, Nokia provides its customers with a comprehensive, end-to-end portfolio cutting across radio access networks (RAN), core, transport, and services. This unparalleled breadth allows Nokia to deliver a multi-layered, seamless solution that spans from standard cloud infrastructure all the way up to intelligent AI agents.
At the infrastructure level, Nokia built its foundations on Google Cloud. By moving workloads to standard compute and storage—specifically Google Kubernetes Engine and Cloud Storage—Nokia broke down historical data silos. This provides operators with a single, unified view across their highly complex multi-cloud, multi-vendor, and multi-domain environments, crucially eliminating the need to "rip and replace" their existing infrastructure investments.
On top of this cloud foundation, Nokia unified its vast portfolio of industry-leading telecom products—including MantaRay SMO and advanced slice controllers—into a single ecosystem called the Autonomous Networks Fabric (ANF). Functioning as a unifying intelligence layer, the ANF weaves together 360-degree observability, analytics, security, and automation across every network domain. The operational heart of this fabric is the Nokia Assurance Center, which Nokia transformed into a fully AI-native hub for network monitoring and management.
Finally, at the agent level, Nokia utilized the Google Cloud Agent Development Kit and the Gemini Enterprise to integrate a dynamic ecosystem of six specialized AI agents into the Assurance Center. Each agent plays a specific, coordinated role in troubleshooting. An event triage agent instantly analyzes incoming network alarms, cutting through massive volumes of background noise to isolate actual critical infrastructure threats. A central router agent acts as the orchestrator, flawlessly managing communication between the different agents and network tools. Once an issue is pinpointed, an action reasoner agent evaluates data from past network issues and resolutions to rapidly formulate the most effective fix.
Google Cloud provided the core foundation to unify our Autonomous Networks Fabric. By moving to standard Google Cloud compute and storage via Kubernetes, our infrastructure becomes unified, and our customers get to see a unified view.

Nokia refers to this tiered, intelligent approach as "glass box autonomy." The AI ecosystem handles the massive heavy lifting of data analysis and troubleshooting, but acts strictly as an incredibly smart advisor. A human operator always remains in the loop to approve the final recommendation before any changes are executed, ensuring that operators gain all the speed of AI while maintaining absolute operational safety and control.
By transitioning from rigid, manual workflows to this advanced multi-agent workflow, Nokia is delivering massive operational efficiency to its customers. The AI ecosystem slashes problem-solving time by 50% to 80%, reducing network troubleshooting from hours down to mere minutes. It also enables networks to proactively self-heal anomalies before subscribers even notice a disruption.
Nokia is officially launching these AI agents as a SaaS model on the Google Cloud Marketplace in September 2026. Telecom operators can immediately deploy a "starter pack" featuring the router and event triage agents, with the remaining specialized AI agents rolling out through early 2027.
Using Google's Agent Development Kit and the Gemini Enterprise, we have seen a 50% to 80% time reduction in problem-solving, essentially cutting time from hours into mere minutes.
